I found this site and I think it is pretty cool. It explains some of the alternative intersections, how they work, why they are cool, etc. Take a look.

One common theme that seems to crop up a lot in these designs are the use of one-way couplets. I think it makes for a neat design, and somewhat unique to what we see for the most part of Utah. I think it would be good to see these types of changes rather than trying to widen more roads.
